The son of a reputed event organizer from Ahmedabad committed suicide by jumping off from the fifth floor of his Dubai apartment on Sunday. He was 18 and reported to be suffering from drug addiction.
The young man’s father is a reputed event organizer from Ahmedabad. Sources close to the family shared that the teen was given to wanton ways. In fact, while still in Ahmedabad, he hit headlines for sending a threatening email to school authorities to cancel exams. Partly pressured by such acts and partly for sake of academics, the boy was sent to Dubai for higher studies. However, he picked up substance abuse while there and despite successive efforts at rehabilitation, the boy fell back to the addiction.
Early reports indicate that the extreme step was taken under intoxication.
