The chief of Congress’s Youth Wing in Gujarat, Vishwanath Singh Vaghela resigned ahead of the upcoming assembly election due to be held in the month of December this year.
Youth wing leader Vaghela in his letter slammed Congress for its failure to win elections across the state. “The youth in the Congress party are totally wasting their time. Party members divide in groups and create ruckus. The people of India have been given several chances, but the party failed to perform.”
Criticising the party for carrying just the dynasty of the Nehru-Gandhi family, he said, “I resign as the Chief of the Congress Party’s Youth Wing. I have been a victim of the internal factionalism emerging within the party. People do not let me work and interfere all the time. A conspiracy is being designed to put down the Congress party and it is surrounded with sycophants. The youth are exploited within the party.”
Adding further, he stated, “The youth don’t see any future in Congress. The youth cannot bet on the party. The internal factionalism creates ruckus within the party and (thus failing its vision). The top bearers doubt the work of the party members. There is no respect for the seniors or the juniors. What did Congress do to build the integrity of the nation? Congress must join the forces working for the righteousness and integration of the country.”
Of late India’s biggest party in opposition has been continuously hit by its own party members and there has been a series of episodes that has forced the members to leave the party.
Recently, party’s senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad resigned and a key G-23 leader, Former Union Minister Anand Sharma, quit the post of chairman of the Congress Steering Committee (CSC).
