The Harvard Law School Center has chosen Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud to receive the “Award for Global Leadership” in honour of his lifetime contributions to the legal community both at home and abroad.
On January 11, he will receive the honour at a virtual ceremony. The American Harvard Law School awarded Justice Chandrachud an LLM and a Doctorate in Juridical Sciences (SJD). Harvard Law School professor David Wilkins will also speak with the CJI at the ceremony.
On November 9, 2022, Justice Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th Chief Justice of India. He served on the Supreme Court benches that handed down several significant rulings, notably the one in the Ayodhya land dispute case.
