In memory of Late Lata Mangeshkar, the central government of India has announced to introduce a postal stamp. The Union Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology of India minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw said that it will be an appropriate tribute to the ‘Nightingale of India’.
The postal seal will be released as a commemorative stamp – the stamps which are issued commemorating important national or international events, nature, rare flora and fauna, agro activities, environmental issues, well-known personalities, games, etc, according to the postal department of India.
The legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar, 92 breathed her last on Sunday, February 6 at Breach Candy Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for Covid-19 on January 8.
The ashes of mortal remains of the veteran singer were collected by her nephew – Adinath Mangeshkar from Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Monday, February 7.
