Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit, Amrita Rao, and producer Gauri Khan are among the high-profile investors who have recently acquired shares in the travel tech platform OYO.
Gauri Khan reportedly purchased 2.4 million shares of OYO during the company’s Series G funding round, which concluded in August 2024. The round raised over Rs 1,400 crore from a consortium of investors.
A growing number of celebrities are diversifying their investments into high-growth startups, aiming for significant returns as these companies prepare to go public.
In a statement, OYO confirmed that Madhuri Dixit, her husband Dr Sriram Nene, and Dr Ritesh Malik—founder of Innov8, founding member of Plaksha University, and angel investor—jointly acquired 2 million shares at an undisclosed valuation.
Actor Amrita Rao and her husband Anmol Sood, a renowned radio jockey, also bought shares in OYO through the secondary market, according to the company.
Separately, Nuvama Wealth had recently facilitated a secondary transaction on behalf of its investors, including several family offices. The transaction, valued at Rs 100 crore at Rs 53 per share, places OYO’s overall valuation at $4.6 billion.
