Canada: Hindu Sabha Temple Suspends Priest Over Alleged Involvement

| Updated: November 6, 2024 18:30

The Hindu Sabha Temple has suspended its priest, Rajendra Prasad over alleged involvement in the controversial protest. On Sunday, the pro-Khalisthanis attacked visitors at the temple in Brampton, Canada. Following this incident, the temple’s president, Madhusudan Lama, issued an official statement confirming the suspension.

According to the statement, Prasad is accused of having a controversial role in the protest, prompting the temple to take immediate action against him.

During the attack, individuals carrying Khalistani flags reportedly entered the temple and assaulted devotees with sticks. Local police arrived at the scene shortly afterwards. Videos of the incident, which circulated widely on social media, have since led to the suspension of Sergeant Harinder Sohi in Canada.

On Monday, thousands of Canadian Hindus, along with the Coalition of Hindus in North America (CoHNA), organized an anti-Khalistan march in solidarity after the temple was attacked by pro-Khalistanis.
