This morning, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State President, C.R. Paatil, laid the foundation stone of Surat District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited’s (SUMUL) new milk and milk products manufacturing unit. According to the statement issued by the party, this unit is expected to have the capacity of processing 50 thousand to 1 lakh litres of milk everyday. The unit will also have an Ice-cream cone making plant.
While addressing the ceremony, Paatil said that Sumul Dairy has been actively contributing to the economic growth of the people through milk cooperative. He said, “Today due to Sumul, people from the tribal communities have joined milk production and become economically independent. I believe that the co-operative sector will become stronger in the days to come.”
Paatil further applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to support and grow cooperative sector in the state. He said that PM Modi had a vision to develop co-operative sector in Gujarat, which will benefit not only the people involved but also create lucrative opportunities for the farmers.
Bhikhubhai Patel, President of Shri District Cooperative Union and RM Sodhi, MD of Sumul Federation also addressed the people on the occasion. Minister of State, Kanubhai Desai, Jagdish Vishwakarma, Mukesh Patel, President of Surat District Sandip Desai, Chairman of Sumul Dairy Mansingh Patel, as well as Sumul Dairy directors, including Bharat Patel were present at the event.
