The two-day “Auto de Luxe” was inaugurated by state BJP president C.R. Paatil on Saturday at Jade Banquet. Organised by Aver Media, the high-end auto exhibition showcases the latest models from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lexus, Citroen, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Mercedes, Morris Garage, Skoda, Volvo, Harley Davidson, Triumph motorcycles and Kawasaki. It is on till Sunday and will cater to prospective buyers as much as to answer queries from luxury vehicle and bike lovers in the state.
“Amdavadis are known for their love of all things modern. We hope this show helps the buyer avail of knowledge first-hand. Luxury car manufacturers believe in a potential market here,” shared show convenor, Saurin Basu.
The global luxury car market was valued at US$ 410 billion in 2020. The market is projected to grow to US$ 566 billion in 2026 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 5 percent over the next period (2021-2026), he further explained.
Luxury cars, while definitely a style statement, are an investment for better performance and safety. These models come fitted with sleek interiors, latest technology features and add-ons for those who wish the premium range. “The luxury segment is divided by vehicle type, drive type and geography. Vehicle type segmentation includes hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. Drive type covers IC engine and electric,” added Mr Basu.
Mr Patil toured the fair and even tried his hand at some of the parked models such as an Aston Martin DBX, Lexus ES and Ferrari Roma.
“The city’s road boasts some of the finest cars and this show will only augment that pride. This exhibition must be brought to Gujarat every year,” commented Mr Patil, adding that he is confident of a robust sales post the show.
