Dharma Production’s Brahmastra Trilogy was announced in 2017. Ever since, all we have been allowed into are sneak peeks from the shooting Bulgaira. Finally, on Tuesday Sony Music India announced the trailer release scheduled for June 15. The release will limit itself to a short glimpse only from Part 1: Shiva.
The teaser unveils the first look of the cast. The hugely- anticipated movies features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in lead roles. Set in Indian mythology, the film’s plot jockeys back and forth in time.
The movie is unlike any other KJo blockbusters in its subject. Dharma Productions has become synonymous with feel-good family entertainers and Brahmastra is set to re-define the tag. Shooting for the film did take a setback with the pandemic. Nonetheless, the locales promise to capture the best of surreal nature: from the icy pinnacles of Bulgaria to the modern cities New York and then again, a detour to pastoral lands in Edinburgh and Scotland. At the centre of this world, remains Varanasi.
Film analysts predict the trilogy to pave way for sci-fi genre in Bollywood. In ways, pegged on myth and packed with action, Brahmastra ushers “mythrillers” in India.
