After garnering rave reviews and raking in moolah from all corners of the world, Gadar 2, one of the biggest blockbusters of 2023, has finally made its way to OTT.
The Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel-starrer and Anil Sharma-directed action drama has grossed Rs 690 crore worldwide. Released in cinemas on August 11, Gadar 2 also stars Utkarsh Sharma with Manish Wadhwa and debutant Simrat Kaur.
The film will premiere on ZEE5 and the movie will be available for digital streaming from October 6 (Friday) onwards. ZEE5 announced the OTT release on their social media handles, with a poster of Gadar 2, and wrote, “The countdown begins! Tara Singh is all set to win your hearts! India’s Biggest Blockbuster is coming on #ZEE5 in just 2 days!”
A week after the release of Gadar 2, director Anil Sharma said that his latest movie won’t premiere on OTT soon. Anil said, “People won’t get to watch Gadar 2 on OTT anytime soon, as the film is still in the theatres, it will start streaming after 6 to 8 months.
Till then, so many people would have already watched the film in theatres, and so many have done so already… We’ve managed to excite the audience, and that’s the biggest success for the film.” Sunny Deol and Manish Wadhwa’s action-packed sequel Gadar 2 broke multiple box office records, including surpassing the domestic earnings of the Hindi version of KGF Chapter 2.
The movie is the direct sequel to the 2001 all-time blockbuster and it also stars Utkarsh Sharma reprising his character Charanjit from the prequel. The movie marked the Bollywood debut of Simrat Kaur.
