Senior Gujarat Congress leader Bharatsinh Solanki’s Tuesday remarks against the BJP over Ram Mandir at a public meeting have invited controversy with the BJP calling it an insult to the Hindus and that it reflected the “Congress’ mindset.”
Solanki, a former union minister, on Tuesday, asked whatever happened to the crores of bricks with tilak sent from across the country for the construction of Ram Temple since the monument in Ayodhya was being built with a pink stone.
“They worshipped the wall bricks of Ram Mandir. Now, we have seen dogs urinating on them. They have betrayed Lord Ram. Why would they not deceive us?”, he asked.
Solanki added, “BJP deposited crores of rupees to build the Rama Mandir and cheated in the name of Rama. When the government assigned them a budget, why did they raise another fund?”
CR Paatil Warns Solanki
Gujarat BJP President CR Paatil addressed various government scheme beneficiaries at Padra in Vadodara, when he referred to Solanki’s remarks and warned him, “We will teach him a lesson if he tries to do this again.”
“He needs to go to a mental hospital for a check-up. He needs to stop playing with the feelings of Hindu people,” CR Paatil added.
Hardik Patel Calls Congress Anti-BJP
Hardik Patel, who has just quit the Congress, had in a recent press conference accused the party of being anti-Hindu. After Solanki’s remarks went viral, Patel said, “Earlier, I mentioned that the Congress Party wants to hurt people’s sentiments. They are always trying to damage the Hindu faith. The former Union Minister and Gujarat Congress leader made a statement about dogs urinating on Ram Mandir bricks.”
In another tweet, he said, “I want to ask the Congress leaders why do they have this enmity with Lord Ram? After centuries, the government is building a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. But, the Congress leaders are busy making statements against Lord Ram.”
Smacks of disrespect for Indian culture: BJP spokesman
State BJP spokesperson Yagnesh Dave tweeted and taunted Solanki, “Your statement on dogs urinating on Ram Mandir bricks exposes your weak mentality against Indian culture. May Rams bless everyone.”
