Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 kicked off yesterday in Birmingham, UK, with a grand opening ceremony that has the netizens in awe. One of the highlights of the show was the raging bull. From the USA to Australia, from Canada to India, all the champion teams would be participating in this sports festival.
The sporting event for this 22nd edition of the CWG will begin today at the Alexander Stadium. More than 3500 athletes from 70 countries will compete in more than 21 sporting categories. The athletes will be aiming to win as many medals as they can for their countries. India has sent a strong 214-member contingent to fight for all possible medals at CWG. In all the years it has participated in the CWG, India has won 503 medals, of which 181 are gold, 173 are silver and 149 are bronze. On the medal tally board, India ranks fourth. Australia stands at the top with 2415 medals in total, followed by England with 2144 medals and Canada with 1555 titles.
