The ongoing wedding season has seen a surge in the demand for luxury vehicles and helicopters in Gujarat, with over 300 high-end cars and 62 helicopters booked for wedding ceremonies and processions.
Grooms in Ahmedabad are opting for premium cars such as Rolls Royce Phantom, Jaguar, Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, Mustang GT and Lamborghini to make grand entries.
Event organisers and car rental service providers have reported that bookings for these vehicles began a year and a half ago.
Kuldeep Singh Chauhan, an event organiser, stated that due to the high demand, cars are being brought in from other states, including Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur.
The Rolls Royce Phantom has been particularly popular this season, with 10 grooms in Ahmedabad booking the vehicle.
Harish Mehta, Managing Director of Mehta Travels in Zundal, confirmed that the rental cost for a Rolls Royce Phantom ranges from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
In addition to luxury cars, 12 helicopters have been booked in Ahmedabad for wedding ceremonies, with 50 more reserved across Gujarat. Negotiations are currently underway for seven additional helicopter bookings.
Sohan Singh Nathawath, Managing Director of A-One Helicopters, reported that most bookings have been made in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and nearby areas. The cost of renting a five-passenger helicopter ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 7 lakh.
With the increased demand for both luxury cars and helicopters, the wedding industry in Gujarat has witnessed a significant rise in the scale of wedding celebrations this season.
