The newly appointed Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel made his first visit to the national capital on Monday (September 20), a week after assuming charge from the erstwhile CM Vijay Rupani.
CM Patel met President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Gujarat CM also paid a visit to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Bhartiya Janta Party president JP Nadda, besides Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, in Delhi.
The Gujarat CM gifted the idols of Simandhar Swami to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, thanking the duo for their constant work towards the development of Gujarat.
“Our beloved PM’s thoughts for the welfare of countrymen and his vision for taking India to new heights of growth always fills one with new vigour whenever one gets chance to meet him,” the Chief Minister tweeted post his visit at PM Modi’s residence in New Delhi.
CM Patel met Amit Shah in the afternoon and tweeted, “Met Hon’ble Home Minister of India Shri Amit Shah ji in New Delhi. Gujarat is blessed to have received his continual guidance and support for the betterment of the State.”
Bhupendra Patel, a first-term MLA, was sworn in as Gujarat’s 17th chief minister on September 13, two days after Rupani stepped down from the post. He is on one day visit in Delhi, paying courtesy calls to all the Union leaders.
Assembly elections in Gujarat are scheduled to be held in December 2022.
The chief minister tweeted after meeting Shah, “Met Hon’ble Home Minister of India Shri Amit Shah ji in New Delhi. Gujarat is blessed to have received his continual guidance and support for the betterment of the State.”
Patel was sworn in as chief minister on September 13, succeeding Vijay Rupani as the BJP replaced the Council of Ministers with a new team.
