Gujarat BJP president C.R. Paatil performed a virtual bhoomi pujan to officially inaugurate a Mumbai plant for Bharuch’s Dudhdhara Dairy. The exact location of the plant is still not determined though Dahisar tops the list of probables.

Paatil was addressing the 63rd Annual General Meeting of the dairy on Monday. Held at Jadheswar Swaminarayan Temple in Bharuch, he also laid the foundation stone of a Rs 5 crore shrikhand plant. He also officiated at a pujan for a 500 KV solar plant, to be achieved at an outlay of Rs 2 crores. The plant is expected to save up to 20 per cent of the daily electricity bill.

Also present at the occasion were Narmada district BJP president Ghanshyam Patel, Assembly magistrate and MLA Dushyant Patel, Wagra MLA Arun Singh Rana, District BJP president Maruti Singh Athodaya, general secretary Niral Patel, former ministers Khumansingh Wasiya, Fathesingh Gohil and Nishant Modi.

Dairy chairman Ghanshyam Patel also incentivized outstanding milk producers with gifts. Meanwhile, the rate for milk procurement has been hiked from Rs 725 to ₹735 w.e.f from June 21. Nearly 62,000 members in both districts (Bharuch and Narmada) are expected to benefit from the same.

The meeting also decided to release Rs 17 crore (in cash) of the total Rs 35 crore outstanding from the previous fiscal. The Dairy will repay the remaining dues in the form of infrastructure and fodder.
