On Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a milestone ahead of the Gujarat elections as 500 Doctors from the state joined the political party. The Doctors joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Gujarat State President, CR Paatil, was also present during the ceremony.
It is noteworthy that the BJP has been ruling Gujarat for over three decades now. In fact, the tentative schedule for the Gujarat Assembly elections is by the end of 2022. As BJP gears up for the state elections, there will be no breather for the party workers for six months.
BJP is working extensively for the Assembly polls in the upcoming future. But, the situation creates more pressure as the party won four out of five state assembly polls in India. Paatil referred to the state assembly elections as a ‘battle’ for Gujarat as per media sources. He requested the BJP party workers to give their best.
BJP Turns Election Mode On
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gone full election mode. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Gujarat to mark the beginning of the election campaign. PM Modi has already made two visits to Gujarat in the last two months. However, he intends to make more visits to Gujarat in light of the elections.
Not only Modi, but Gujarat has seen some foreign visitors in the last two months. The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and the PM of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, visited the Jewel of Western India, Gujarat. Even the member of parliament from Gandhinagar and Home Minister, Amit Shah, visited the constituency a few times.
The BJP has strong bulwarks in Gujarat as it serves its sixth term. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the longest-running CM of Gujarat for 21 years. In September 2021, the political party underwent a comprehensive state cabinet modification. Subsequently, Bhupendra Patel superseded Vijay Rupani as the CM of Gujarat.
