Over 100,000 volunteers were honored on Saturday at the grand Karyakar Suvarna Mahotsav, a mega celebration, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The event, which marked the enduring legacy of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, paid tribute to the unwavering commitment of volunteers who had tirelessly contributed to fostering a global community rooted in service, devotion, and spirituality.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and other state Cabinet members joined the celebration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech acknowleded the profound impact of these volunteers in advancing the vision of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
Held at the world’s biggest cricket stadium, the Karyakar Suvarna Mahotsav highlighted the strength of united devotion and service, reflecting the enduring legacy of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.
The event was live streamed on BAPS website.
Each seat at the event was equipped with designated bands that provided a captivating light and sound experience, ensuring an immersive atmosphere.
All the volunteers, known as Karyakars, wore either peach shirts or red-and-white attire for the occasion.
A total of 10,000 volunteers came together to contribute to the success of the Mahotsav, supported by dedicated helpers and police officers who ensured security and order throughout the event.
Remarkably, the entire event and cleanup were handled by the volunteers themselves, not by the stadium’s staff.
For transportation, 1,200 buses were arranged to take participants to the station.
Volunteer Nirav Joshi shared his thoughts on Pramukh Swami Maharaj, saying, “When you’re a pure soul, you will always leave a lasting impact.” He made a special trip from Pondicherry just for this one-day event. His statement encapsulates the spirit of the event, demonstrating the unity of thousands of individuals coming together to create something extraordinary, symbolizing that all believers are part of one big family.
“If you want to shape the future, focus on changing the seeds, not the trees,” remarked Yogiji Maharaj, who launched this initiative in 1952. The movement was formally organized in 1972 and has now been thriving for over 50 years.
