Gujarat government has given approval to Banas Dairy and Dudhsagar Dairy’s proposal to set up two new Sainik schools in Gujarat.
It was first the Central government who gave its approval, followed by the State government’s nod.
The Banas Dairy is all ready to set it up at Palanpur, while Dudhsagar shall set the school in Mehsana, says the education minister Jitu Vaghani to the media after the cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The Banas Dairy had sent an application to the Union Ministry of Defense for setting up a Sainik school under Vallabhbhai Patel Charitable Trust in November 2021.
The minister added that these schools will follow a CBSE pattern of education. The aim of these schools will be to help Gujarat’s youth to join armed forces.
As of now, there is only one Sainik school at Balachadi in Jamnagar.
