Actor Shah Rukh Khan revealed the brand-new Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV in India today at Auto Expo 2023. The automobile will have an introductory price of Rs 44.95 lakh and have a single-charge range of 631 kilometres. Only the first 500 customers will be eligible for the introductory pricing.
After Kona Electric, it will only be the second car in India to feature an all-electric drivetrain. Currently serving as Hyundai’s brand ambassador, the megastar has a 25-year history with the company. In order to attend the Auto Expo 2023 and present the Ioniq 5 EV, he landed in Delhi on Wednesday.
He greeted the crowd of onlookers as he stylishly launched the car in front of them with his arms in the air. Additionally, he was heard singing “Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jaana Sanam,” a well-known song from the 1990s hit Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge.
Even while presenting the vehicle, SRK maintained his sharp humour and requested the company representatives present to create a rule allowing him to take the vehicles he unveils for free. He said, “As the seniormost member of Hyundai in India… this wonderful set of people from Hyundai here to make it a company policy that whenever I come to Delhi to launch a new car, then that car I should get to take to my home for free.”
The Bollywood celebrity had already attended the Auto Expo. He showcased the Hyundai Creta SUV at Auto Expo 2020. Even with all the new automobiles being introduced today, he had previously stated that the Santro was still his favourite vehicle.
