The Gujarat Police have seized cocaine estimated to be worth 130 crores from a deserted area near Gandhidham. The operation was a joint effort by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), East Kutch Special Operations Group (SOG), Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Gandhidham B Division Police.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of the morning, uncovered 13 unclaimed packets of cocaine hidden in bushes. Each packet is estimated to be worth 10 crores. The police acted on a tip-off about drug trafficking and conducted a joint undercover search operation in Kharirohar, located tens of kilometers from Gandhidham.
The operation resulted in the recovery of 13 packets of cocaine from acacia bushes. The area was monitored by the ATS team using drone cameras. The police sought assistance from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to confirm the purity of the drugs and verify their initial suspicion that it was cocaine.
Suspecting the presence of more drugs, the ATS team closely monitored the entire area using drone cameras. This incident comes on the heels of a similar occurrence last year near Gandhidham, where 80 packets of cocaine worth 800 crores were found in the Mithirohar area.
