Since the month-long Pramukh Swami Maharaj (PSM) festival ended, volunteers and the swamis who assisted them have cleared the 600-acre PSM Nagar of the more than 1 crore paver bricks that had been installed there.
Over 20% of the deconstruction work has, according to BAPS sources, been finished in just two days. The total removal of all installations and their return to their original locations is anticipated to take between 15 and 30 days.
All materials, plants, and objects utilised at the Nagar will be recycled. There are 125 different types of flowering plants, 8.9 acres of gardens, and around 10.35 lakh plants, including herbs, shrubs, and trees.
The academic and professional sessions were held in domes that have since been demolished. Volunteers are now taking down statues and other ornaments from the Glow Garden at the Nagar. The statues will be delivered by BAPS management to a number of Swaminarayan temples, including Akshardham in Gandhinagar.
Many of the Santh Dwars’ idols will be utilised in upcoming BAPS festivals and activities and stored in various temples. People are also receiving the paver blocks that surround PSM’s enormous idol as gifts. Electronics like PCs, laptops, TVs, displays and other devices will be given back to their rightful owners.
BAPS management honoured farmers and developers who donated their land for the month-long festival without charging at the felicitation ceremony on Tuesday at PSM Nagar. People who contributed supplies, equipment, food grains, etc. were also recognised.
Volunteers receive blessings from Mahant Swami. The list also includes the government’s transport agency, traders, health department, airport authority, AMC, AUDA, GEB, GUDA, fire department, PWD department, and builders who provided apartments for visitors and volunteers.
After seeing each person individually, Mahant Swami Maharaj blessed individuals who have worked for the BAPA for several months. At the occasion, a BAPS swami revealed that the AMC intended to alter the name of the Science City housing colony to Pramukh Swami Awas.
