Asit Vora, the chairman of the Gujarat Secondary Service Selection Board currently under fire for the paper leak scandal of the recently-held head clerks’ examination, has approached the office of Gujarat Chief Minister, even as a Cabinet meeting on the incident is underway this morning.
A private meeting between the CM and Vora has reportedly been scheduled once the meeting ends.
While no evidence has yet been found against Vora in the paper leak scandal, the Opposition has demanded Vora’s immediate resignation. This is the second alleged paper leak scandal in two years of Vora’s tenure. The 2019 incident in the test for the head clerk is still fresh.
On December 21, BJP state president CR Patil called a press conference and said that the CM and Harsh Sanghvi had given strict instructions to the authorities and caught most of the culprits immediately.
Vora called a press conference after Yuvrajsingh Jadeja alleged a paper leak. “We had received a WhatsApp message, but it was after the exam was over,”
Vora, a former mayor of Ahmedabad, was a well-known singer in the city’s entertainment circle. His daughter is also a singer; often, father and daughter have performed together on stage.
