Deepika Padukone will next be appearing in Gehraiyaan – directed by Shakun Batra. Talking about working with Batra for the first time, Padukone recalled her working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has directed her in three movies. She said that the working process of both the directors is quite different and she feels like anyone who has worked on the sets of Shakun Batra is qualified enough to work with Bhansali.
“We basically say or I have started saying to him now that if you work with Shakun Batra, you can work on a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film because he’s just not happy. I am joking about the complaining part of it but I love his process because it’s exhausting. Literally from the time you are on the set to the time you leave, actors are on their feet the whole time, except the lunch break, Deepika said in a chat with Anupama Chopra.
Opening about her working process with these directors, Deepika shared an instance saying that “Shakun and Sanjay are both open to let me make the changes in the dialogues as long as you get the essence. They are interested in conveying essence and emotion of the scene and what the scene is trying to express and communicate. So, I mark up the works that does not fit my mind or don’t feel natural… and I write on the side.”
Gehraiyaan is all set to hit the OTT platform – Amazon Prime Video from February 11. The film stars Ananya Panday, Dhairya Karwa and Siddhant Chaturvedi alongside Deepika Padukone.
