Music composer AR Rahman has issued a warning to those speculating about his separation from his wife, Saira Banu.
Sharing a three-page legal notice on social media, the 57-year-old musician addressed individuals circulating defamatory and “objectionable” content about him and his family.
Rahman posted, “Notice to all slanderers from ARR’s Legal Team,” on X. It occurred a few days after Rahman and Saira Banu announced their intention to dissolve their 29-year marriage.
The notice states that noncompliance may lead to legal repercussions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and gives a 24-hour time for the removal of such content.
“My client informs the hatemongers and sharers of abusive content to remove the objectionable contents within the next one hour and a maximum time duration of 24 hours,” the note further read.
According to Rahman’s legal team, their acts not only damage his reputation but also hurt his family.
Rahman and Banu were married in 1995 and have three children: a son named Ameen, a daughter named Khatija and a daughter named Raheema.
