The Mumbai crime branch, Monday, arrested bookie Anil Jaisinghani, who stands accused of blackmailing Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis’s wife, Amruta Fadnavis. Sleuths on trail of the missing culprit, picked him up from the Gujarat, though officials at this stage are tight-lipped on the place and other details of the arrest.
Top crime branch sources, however, confirmed that Anil Jaisinghani, has 14 to 15 cases pending against him.
Mumbai Police, had on March 16, arrested his daughter Aniksha Anil Jaisinghani, a designer, after Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta accused her of offering a bribe for intervening in a criminal case related to her father. The father-daughter duo also stand accused of threatening Amruta Fadnavis with dire consequences if cases against the bookie are not dropped.
