Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah is set to celebrate the annual kite festival of Uttarayan in his Lok Sabha constituency of Gandhinagar on Tuesday, with planned visits to three residential societies in the area.
Shah is expected to begin his Uttarayan celebrations in the morning at the Shantiniketan Apartment in the Memnagar area, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This area falls under the Ghatlodia Assembly constituency, which is represented by CM Patel, and Ghatlodia is also part of the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
During a press conference, Kirit Patel, the chairman of the Shantiniketan Apartment society and a prominent figure in local social organisations, expressed excitement over Shah’s visit. “We are feeling fortunate that despite his significant responsibilities in the country, Shah is coming to our apartment to celebrate Uttarayan with all the workers,” he said.
The society has planned a special reception for the guests, with a dress code in place and 50 young girls carrying kalash to welcome the visitors. In addition, the apartment residents have prepared a rangoli for the occasion.
Kirit Patel also mentioned that arrangements have been made for breakfast, which will feature traditional Uttarayan delicacies such as chikki, kachori, samosa, and fruits like sugarcane, berries, and guava.
After his visit to Shantiniketan Apartment, Shah is scheduled to visit two more localities within the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency: Aryavilla Apartments in Ranip and Arham Flats in Sabarmati. Both areas are part of Ahmedabad and hold significance in the larger constituency.
