Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has signed an agreement with the World Bank For Rs 3000 crore loan under the Gujarat Resilience City Development Programme (GRCDP).
The AMC updated the bank on various infrastructure works in progress that will be executed from this loan. The AMC said the standing committee approved work worth Rs 778.15 crore to build a 375 million litres a day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP) at Vasna.
A feasibility report and detailed project report have been approved by the World Bank for construction of a 424 MLD MLD plant at Pirana.
The civic body had floated a a tender worth Rs 360 crore to build a new 240 MLD STP at at Vasna, but as the cost was rising, the civic body decided to reissue the tender.
The World Bank provides loans and grants to the governments of low- and middle-income countries for the purpose of pursuing capital projects.
