Much anticipated peace talks between the two countries currently underway. These talks are crucial as the Russian invasion of Ukraine has entered day 18. 

Here Are the Top Developments:

*A day after 35 Ukrainians were killed in a Russian missile assault on an army base in Western Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy requested Nato to impose a no-fly region in a video statement. He said, “If you don’t shut our sky, it is a matter of time that Russian rockets will fall on Nato territory.”

*The fourth of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia is underway after both sides hailed forward movement as negotiations aimed at ending the war has lasted more than two weeks of fighting. Three rounds of talks between the two countries in Belarus had an agenda on humanitarian troubles. The talks have led to the opening of some corridors for civilians to break out hostilities.  

*Advisors of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy uploaded a video on Twitter and said, “Kyiv is always beautiful. Even during wartime.” They added that the President’s team is permanently on the ground working.

*He confirmed that negotiations with Russia are ongoing in a video format. They have formed special working subgroups for the same.

*The US national security adviser Jake Sullivan stated that Russia would pay a “severe price” if it initiated a chemical assault on Ukraine. 

*Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting to review India’s security preparedness amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis. 

* Indian Parliamentary Panel for Transport,Tourism and Culture on Monday applauded Government of India for ‘Operation Ganga’.
