The much-awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi releases February 25. Meanwhile, the peek previews and songs have already enthralled fans and critics alike. No doubt, Alia has outdone previous intense performances but it is her garba in Dholida which has climbed charts as much for its foot-tapping beats as for the actor’s dance moves.

The track has been scored by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself while the lyrics are by Kumaar. Sung by Jahnvi Shrimankar and Shail Hada, the dance has been choreographed by Kruti Mahesh.

The period drama has been adapted from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book, “Mafia Queens of Mumbai” and features Alia in the lead role of Gangubai, one of the most powerful, loved and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
Apart from Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia’s forthcoming projects include Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Darlings, RRR and Brahmastra.
