Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is once again set to captivate his fans and movie lovers with an emotional project, Raksha Bandhan, scheduled to release on August 11. With the Raksha Bandhan movie, the actor has returned to his favourite Independence day spot for the 9th time.
#BoycottRakshaBandhanMovie is trending on social media and it has escalated the worries of the makers. Meanwhile, Akki has reacted to the boycott calls by social media users during a promotional event in Kolkata.
He said, “This is a free country, everybody is allowed to do whatever they want. But, my thing is to everyone in this industry or any industry; whether it is a builder’s industry or film industry, these all help the economy of India. We’re all on the verge of changing into the largest and the best nation. I might request them (trolls) and also you (media), don’t get into it,” he said.
Directed by Aanand L Rai, Raksha Bandhan revolves around Akshay’s character, Lala Kedarnath, and his sisters, performed by Sadia Khateeb, Smrithi Srikanth, Deepika Khanna, and Sahejmeen Kaur. Actor Bhumi Pednekar is also a part of the movie and is paired opposite Akshay in the film.
The story revolves around a man (Lala Kedarnath) and his four sisters. Lala runs a chaat shop inherited from his father. He promises his mother on her deathbed that he will get married only after fulfilling the responsibilities of marrying off his sisters in suitable places. Lala comes across different challenges while trying to get his sisters married. At the same time, he is facing hurdles while handling his personal and romantic life.
With a runtime of 110 minutes, the movie has got ‘U’ certification from the Central Board of Film Certification. The family entertainer is jointly produced by Zee Studios, Colour Yellow Productions, and Cape of Good Films.
