Akasa Air, a leading airline in India, announced today that it has adopted DigiYatra’s facial recognition system across nine major airports in the country, including Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The DigiYatra service, a fully biometric-based self-boarding solution, is designed to provide passengers with a hassle-free travel experience.
Before entering the terminal, travellers can register their ID and biometric data, along with their flight details, on the DigiYatra app. As they navigate through the airport, biometric technology authenticates and verifies passengers’ identities, ensuring the highest levels of safety and security.
To enrol for DigiYatra, passengers need to follow these steps:
- Download the DigiYatra app available on Android and Apple stores, using your Aadhar-linked mobile number.
- Link your Aadhar using Digi Locker. If you are not registered with Digi Locker, please register using your Aadhaar number. Ensure that your Aadhaar name matches your flight ticket.
- Click a selfie with good clarity, validate with your Aadhaar and save credentials.
- Add your boarding pass 24 hours prior to the Digi Yatra App before your flight and receive confirmation.
Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has served 7.75 million passengers and connects with 21 cities. DigiYatra is available for Akasa Air customers at Kempegowda Airport in Bengaluru, Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi, Rajiv Gandhi Airport in Hyderabad, Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in Lucknow, Sardar Patel Airport in Ahmedabad, Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati, Subhash Chandra Bose Airport in Kolkata, and Pune International Airport in Pune.
