A young man, Shah Nazim Hasan returning from Kuwait, was threatened and items worth Rs 5.92 lakh were looted by four fake customs officers at Ahmedabad airport. The airport police registered a case and arrested the culprits.
Cases of cheating by personation as customs officers are increasing at the Ahmedabad airport which arises the question of airport security. According to the information received, the victim, Hasan was returning from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on 7th June. He was sitting in a rickshaw in the parking lot along with his friend who came to pick him up. Then he was stopped by four strangers claiming to be customs officers.
The airport police said that during the investigation, the police arrested Hrithik Dinesh Rathore, Shashikant alias Sonu Jairaj Tiwari, resident of shopping in Gandhinagar Sector 3, Prakash Galabhai Mehria, resident of Odhavana Maheshwari Society and Santosh Siyaram Morya, resident of Kotarpur.
Hasan reached India from Saudi Riyadh on 7 June and landed at Ahmedabad airport. His friend had come to the airport to pick up Shah Faesal. He was getting down at Ahmedabad airport and was sitting in a rickshaw in the parking lot. He was stopped by four strangers claiming to be customs officers.
The fake customs officers after checking Hasan’s luggage, looted phones, gold and other items whole worth a total of Rs. 5.92 lakh. Later he realized that it was not the customs officer, he was a fake gang. So he lodged a complaint at the airport police station.
