Bhavesh Chauhan, the proprietor of Kripa Overseas, a visa consultancy firm located near Vijay Char Rasta in Ahmedabad, has been accused of defrauding clients under the guise of providing Canadian visas.
The case came to light when a student from Kalol lodged a complaint with the Gujarat University police. The student alleged that he was duped by the agent who promised to facilitate his travel abroad. The consultancy firm reportedly swindled INR 24 lakhs from the student, identified as Sukun Prajapati.
Upon investigation, the police found the office located in Phoenix Tower near Vijay Char Rasta locked. Following this discovery, Prajapati lodged a formal complaint against Chauhan. The agent is believed to have fled after the accusations surfaced.
The Gujarat University police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. The authorities are currently on the lookout for the absconding agent.
