The maximum fare will be ₹ 25 and according to various stations ₹ 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 in multiples of five will be charged. It will take only one and a half minutes to reach from one station to another. This metro train will have three coaches in which up to 1000 passengers can travel and will run at a speed of 80 km per hour. On average 40 thousand passengers will travel every day.
However, most metro stations do not have parking facilities due to a lack of space. Keeping that in mind, it is planned to arrange a special e-rickshaw arrangement for the passengers. Passengers will be able to travel to the nearest BRTS station through an e-rickshaw.
Now the inspection of coaches, tracks of all three routes, and stations, including safety mechanisms have been completed by CMRS – Commissioner of Metro Rail Services and the safety clearance certificate is awaited.
In all likelihood, by 20th September, coinciding with the Navratri festival Metro train may start functioning.
It is also expected that the metro route between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will be open by 2023-24.
