Sector 21 police officials in Gandhinagar on Tuesday registered a complaint against a man residing in Kalol for providing fabricated documents, from an international electrical products manufacturer. He provided the forged documents to the embassy of Norway in order to get a visa.
Kapil Bijani (49), a native of Thaltej and the Chief Human Resources Officer of Hitachi Hi-Rel Power Electronics, filed a complaint against a man, identified as Nimesh Patel, a native of Rangjyot society in Kalol. Bijani stated that a unit of his company is situated in the GIDC estate in Sector 5, Gandhinagar.
The company got an email from the Embassy of Norway, stating to verify the credentials provided by the accused working in the company’s Gandhinagar GIDC Unit. The embassy transmitted the four attachments such as a no-objection certificate, a reference letter from the company, an employee ID and an employee letter.
Bijani said that the documents have been on the company’s letterhead and his signature was forged. He further stated that no one ever worked in the company under the name of Nimesh Patel. The accused has also used some other employees’ ID cards.
Post this, police registered a complaint of forgery, producing forged documents as a genuine and criminal conspiracy against Patel. “The accused is yet to be arrested,” Inspector MB Bharwad of Sector 21 police said.
