The city of Ahmedabad is adding another attraction to its list of tourist spots. A Lotus Garden, named Kausum, meaning Garland of India, is being built on SG Highway at a cost of 20 crores. The garden will display the flowers of all the states of India in a unique way.
The project is designed like a lotus, with each petal representing a different state’s flower. The petals can be controlled by tablet technology, which can adjust the humidity, temperature and other factors needed to grow the flowers. The garden will also have a floral museum, where visitors can see flowers from various parts of the world. The project is based on net zero energy concept, meaning it will produce as much energy as it consumes.
The Lotus Garden will have all the necessary facilities, such as civil, electrical, structural, MEP, technology, surrounding landscape development, public amenities, parking etc. The garden is expected to attract lakhs of people, who already visit the city for its famous flower show. The Sabartami Riverfront Park, which has become a landmark of the city, will soon have a new companion in the Lotus Garden.
The exact location of the garden has not been finalized yet, but it is planned to be built around SG Highway in the western part of the city. The garden will be a symbol of Ahmedabad’s beauty and diversity, as well as a tribute to India’s rich floral heritage.
