A complaint has been lodged at the Chandkheda police station alleging theft of gold and silver jewellery and Rs 4.50 lakh worth of items and cash from the shops. Prakash Chiman Parmar, resident of the Rimandir Society at the IOC Road informed in his complaint that he has been running the shop, Gajanand Jewellers in New Kamal Kunj Complex for the past 15 years.
Chandkheda police have been on high alert ever since the smugglers carried out a blast at the Raj complex located on the IOC road, ten days ago. However, this wasn’t the first time when the thieves had tried to carry out a robbery at Chandkheda. The thieves broke the shutters of a shop in Chandkheda’s New Kamal Kunj complex and broke the adjacent Gajanand Jewellers as well.
Since it was his and his daughter’s birthday, the shop was closed on Wednesday. Manish Prajapati, who has a stationery shop nearby called Prajapati and told him of the lights in his shop being switched on. And the lock of the shop next to him was broken.
As Prajapati entered the shop, he noted that everything was scattered and there was a hole in the wall. He informed that the thieves had stolen gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 1 lakh in cash.
