Ahmedabad Crime Branch on 7th July 2021, nabbed one Amit Abhvekar 24 of Kubernagar of Charanagar for allegedly stealing gold jewellery worth Rs 2.35 crore from a car of a jeweler in Vadodara. The crime branch recovered jewellery worth Rs 26,01,300 from Abhvekar. According to crime branch sources, Abhvekar and his associates had gone to Vadodara in June 2021. “They saw a car parked near a complex in the Chani Jakatnaka area. They broke the glass window of the car and stole the bag containing jewellery. The car belonged to a Rajkot-based jeweler who had come to Vadodara. We are hunting for the remaining five accused” added a crime branch official.
