Airport in Ahmedabad is preparing itself for rendering better service to the passengers. Catching a taxi back to home after a tiring journey has been a bane of the airline commuters in Ahmedabad. The scenes where the autorickshaws and taxi drivers approaching and harassing the passengers coming out of the airport are not new. In the past, there have been cases where the airport security staff have to chase them. For an airport in the city like Ahmedabad, this are definitely avoidable scenarios.
Things are however set to change for the better. The passengers who had to wait for the taxi booked through mobile application will not have to pass through that ordeal as the airport authorities are building separate taxi stand accommodating 150 vehicles.
At present there is taxi stand for almost same number of vehicles for pre-paid taxis. With new taxi stand catering to the taxis of service providers through mobile application the passengers will be benefitted.
The new taxi parking is being built near prepaid taxi stand which exists in front of domestic airport. A shaded pathway is also planned from the parking to the airport terminal for the benefit of the passengers especially during summer and rainy season.
