Hollywood singer Adele has announced that she will end her Las Vegas residency later this year and take an indefinite break from music. Her fans will not hear from her again until her Weekends With Adele shows in Las Vegas come to an end in the fall, she said on Saturday after concluding her Munich residency.
“I’ve really enjoyed performing… it’s been three years now, which is the longest I’ve done and probably the longest I’ll ever do. But I have 10 shows left after this, back in my (Las Vegas) residency… but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break,” Adele said.
She added, “And I will fantasise about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years, and I’ll really, really hold them in the bottom of my heart forever. It has been amazing, I just need a rest.”
During her performance, the singer, who was visibly emotional, declared, “I want to live the new life I have spent the last seven years building for myself.”
According to the residency’s website, Adele’s performance at the Messe Munchen open-air venue on August 2 was her first appearance in Europe’s mainland since 2016.
Her Las Vegas residency, which started in November 2022, comes to an end with her final 10 shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from October 25 to November 23. By the end of this run, Adele will have completed 100 shows, despite some rescheduled dates and changes.
This declaration comes after she previously said she was taking a break from recording and performing. Adele stated that she planned to spend her break concentrating on “other creative things” in a July interview. “I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while,” she said.
