The Adani Group and the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) have partnered to provide meals to devotees at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj this year. The Mahaprasad Seva will be provided throughout the entire duration of the Maha Kumbh Mela, from January 13 to February 26.
To express gratitude to ISKCON for this initiative, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani met with Guru Prasad Swami, Chairman of the ISKCON Governing Body Commission (GBC), on Thursday.
Discussing ISKCON’s role in facilitating the Mahaprasad Seva, Adani said, “The Kumbh is a sacred site for seva, where every devotee engages in serving God. It is a privilege to launch the ‘Mahaprasad Seva’ for devotees at the Maha Kumbh in partnership with ISKCON.
He further added, “With the blessings of Maa Annapurna, free meals will be provided to millions of devotees. Today, I had the honour of meeting Guru Prasad Swami ji of ISKCON, and I deeply felt the power of dedication to seva. In its truest form, seva is the highest expression of patriotism. Seva is meditation, seva is prayer, and seva is God.”
Guru Prasad Swami, a prominent preacher of the ISKCON, said, “The Adani Group has consistently exemplified corporate responsibility and social service. What distinguishes Gautam Adani ji is his humility – he never waits to be asked but selflessly moves forward to serve. We are deeply thankful for his contribution. His actions inspire us to give back to society and unite in the service of humanity.”
The Mahaprasad Seva will be provided to five million devotees, with meals prepared in two kitchens inside and outside the mela grounds.
The Mahaprasad will be distributed at 40 locations within the Maha Kumbh area, and 2,500 volunteers will be involved in the effort.
Golf carts have been arranged for the differently-abled, elderly, and mothers with children. Additionally, 500,000 copies of the Geeta Saar will be distributed among the devotees.
