Adani Sportsline, an initiative by the Adani Group, has acquired the rights to own and operate a franchise in a T20 league under the UAE flagship. The UAE T20 League, licensed by Emirates Cricket Board, is an annual event that features six franchise teams competing in a 34-match event. The teams will likely include leading and promising players from various cricket teams from different countries, including India. Adani Sportline will connect and engage with global fans from several cricketing nations in their first move overseas.
General Secretary Emirates Cricket Board, Mubashshir Usmani, has expressed pleasure regarding the deal with Adani Group, one of the leading corporates in Asia. He also mentioned that the partnership was a resounding thumbs up to the unique opportunity that the UAE T20 league offers to experienced and established business owners. He said, “We are confident that this association will be mutually beneficial for the Adani Group and the League. T20 League in UAE will attract some of the biggest names in world cricket while also giving a platform and international exposure to local and upcoming players.”
Pranav Adani expressed his excitement about the partnership and said, “The UAE is an amazing amalgamation of several cricket-loving nations. It provides an excellent platform for enhancing the visibility of cricket as the sport goes increasingly global. Our presence here is also a great base for the Adani brand. It contributes significantly to the sports ecosystem in India through leagues such as boxing and kabaddi, and nurturing sporting talent at the grassroots level through the Garv Hai initiative.”
Khalid Al Zarooni, Chairman of UAE T20 League, called this a proud moment and appreciated the Adani Group’s trust in them. He said, “We look forward to benefitting from their business acumen and working together to make our League successful.”
