Acting on a tip-off late Sunday evening, the Bengaluru police raided Park Hotel on MG Road. The venue was hosting a RAVE (radical audio-visual experience) party and several youngsters were nabbed by the police for consuming drugs. Siddhant Kapoor was among those arrested
Siddhanth Kapoor (38) was invited as a DJ at the party. He is known to be a professional disc jockey. Five more people have been taken into custody. According to preliminary reports, 35 people, suspected of using narcotics were rounded up for blood sampling. Siddhant Kapoor’s sample was among the five that turned out to be positive.
“A total of five persons have been arrested including Siddhanth Kapoor after they tested positive for consuming drugs. They have all been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act,” said Bheemashankar S Guled, District General of Police, East Division. Mr Guled said all five of them will be produced before a court later today. However, police insiders briefed that it is still unclear if the drugs were consumed before or during the hotel party.
When contacted by the media, actor Shakti Kapoor is reported to have stated: “I learnt of this from news channels. I don’t have any idea. I woke up and saw him all over the news. The whole family is trying to get in touch. No one is picking up the call. I don’t know what is happening.”
Siddhant Kapoor has acted in films like Haseena Parker, Shootout at Wadala and Chehre. He has reportedly studied filmmaking and acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
