At a time when cancer is gaining greater traction and frequently making news with several celebrities in the last few years falling prey to it, here’s actor Hina Khan, the latest personality in the Big C zone, who has a word of hope and courage for all those who are braving it.
The ‘Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ actor, 36-year-old Khan shared a motivational message for all the men and women fighting the tough battle. She wrote ‘we may be scarred, but we must never be scared’. On June 28, she first announced in an Instagram post that she had been diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, sending her fans into shock and disbelief. She added she was getting treated and was doing well despite the diagnosis. Wishes have been pouring in since then, with many celebrities tweeting in her support.
Giving a shoutout to all cancer warriors, Hina wrote on her Insta again on June 30, “A window to my journey.. This is to all those courageous women and men who are fighting this tough battle.. I wish my journey can be courageous and motivating enough for people out there to turn a page in their own stories for good. And remember we may be SCARRED but we MUST not be SCARED (sic).”
She shared the post with the hashtag, #ScarredNotScared. Her June 28 note read, “Hello Everyone, To address the recent rumour, I want to share some important news with all the Hinaholics and everyone who loves and cares for me. I have been diagnosed with Stage Three Breast Cancer. Despite this challenging diagnosis, I want to reassure everyone that I am doing well. I am strong, determined, and fully committed to overcoming this disease. My treatment has already begun, and I am ready to do everything necessary to emerge from this even stronger (sic).”
She further added, “I kindly ask for your respect and privacy during this time. I deeply appreciate your love, strength, and blessings. Your personal experiences, anecdotes, and supportive suggestions would mean the world to me as I navigate this journey. I, along with my family and loved ones, remain focused, determined, and positive. With the grace of the Almighty, we believe I will overcome this challenge and be completely healthy. Please send your prayers, blessings. and love. Love, Hina (sic).”
Hina Khan’s ticket to fame was her role as Akshara in hit TV show, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’. She later participated in TV shows such as ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. She has also appeared in many projects such as ‘Hacked’, ‘Damaged 2’ and ‘Shinda Shinda No Papa’.
