Bollywood actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda sustained an accidental gunshot injury at his home in Mumbai on Tuesday. He was taken to the hospital and is now out of danger.
He was getting ready for a trip to Kolkata when the accident happened at 4:45 am.
His knee has been injured by a gunshot. The 60-year-old was rushed to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Shashi Sinha, Govinda’s manager, stated that the actor was preparing to travel to Kolkata. An accidental gunshot was fired as the gun fell from his hand.
“Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was getting ready to leave for Kolkata. He kept his licensed revolver in the cupboard when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired, which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet, and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now,” the manager said.
“It is due to God’s grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious,” the manager added.
With over 165 appearances in Hindi-language movies, Govind Arun Ahuja, best known by his stage name Govinda, is a well-known actor, comedian, dancer, and singer.
