After an accused in the case of allegedly assaulting a Dalit family for entering a temple in a village in Kutch managed to escape, three police constables were suspended on Tuesday.
As many as 20 men were booked for allegedly assaulting a Dalit family on October 26 for entering a temple in Gandhidham’s Ner village. According to the police, one of the accused – Kana Ahir was out on the bail and was admitted to Patel Orthopaedic Hospital for the treatment of an injury.
Three constables – Ramdevsinh Kanubha, Siddhrajsinh Zala and Dinesh Thakor were given the duty to keep an eye on the accused in the hospital. On Tuesday morning, they found Kana missing from the hospital. Followed by this, all three constables were suspended from their duties by the SP of Kutch Gandhidham.
