Ten people were killed in an accident that took place on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway near Nadiad. The incident happened when a car, en route from Vadodara to Ahmedabad, collided with the rear of a trailer.
Eight victims died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital.
The vehicle involved in the accident, an Ertiga car, is registered in Ahmedabad parsing. The car, bearing the number GJ-27-EC-2578, is registered under the name of Karan Girishbhai Brahmabhatt.
Authorities fear the death toll may still rise.
The accident caused a traffic jam on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway.
Further investigations are underway.
