An unfortunate incident should not be the deciding factor of a child’s future. Adoption is as fortunate a connection between parents and children as is birth or any other form of parenthood.
The last Monday of the auspicious fasting month of Shravan turned joyous for Nathan and four-year-old Arpita. Found abandoned in a dump yard as a newborn baby, Arpita was raised and nurtured by Children’s Home, Odhav, Ahmedabad.
As soon as she turned four years old a few months back, Arpita found a home.
Nathan from America, along with his wife have adopted Arpita from Children’s Home. Ahmedabad collector Sandip Sangle along with members of the adoption centre were present during the documentation process.
Arpita was considered unadoptable but for Nathan and his family, Arpita is a God-sent gift. He promises to nurture her life as well as give her love and affection like other parents. As soon as the adoption process ended, Nathan with his daughter Arpita left for the USA.
