Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers disclosed the reason behind Virat Kohli’s absence from the first two Test matches against England. During a Q&A session on his YouTube channel, De Villiers shared that Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child.
Initially named in the squad for the opening two Tests, Kohli withdrew from both games just before the Hyderabad tie, citing personal reasons. Responding to a fan’s question about Kohli’s status, De Villiers assured that the Indian cricket star is in good health and spending quality time with his family.
“All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is doing well,” stated the former Royal Challengers Bangalore batter.
