Writer Aadrita Mukerji has signed a deal with Universal Television, reports Deadline. Aadrita who is an Indian American, is ready to write, develop and produce projects across all platforms for the USG studio. According to the pact, Mukerji has signed up now itself for her first, says the Deadline report.
The pact says she will work as a co-executive producer upon NBC’s reboot of Quantum Leap. The series is set to premiere on NBC on September 19. It is a reboot of the popular 1990s sci-fi drama, which also stars Raymond Lee. The show takes place 30 years hence, since Dr Sam Beckett last stepped into Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished away for good.
Mukerji said she is thrilled and honored to join the United Television family. She says she is blessed to have found such a creative home with such a skilled, supportive and committed team. She ended by saying she looks forward to narrating stories together.
With her roots in Kolkata, Aadrita began her career as a writer working on Scorpion on CBS Television. She later grew to become the executive editor of “Supergirl”. She was last seen working as a supervising producer on Universal Television’s “The Endgame” for NBC and also as a producer on Amazon’s Reacher.
